June Meetup | Picnic & Halo Halo Bar!
We might have been unlucky last month when KAPATAD ran out of halo halo for our dinner meetup but we're taking destiny into our own hands for June with a picnic and halo halo dessert bar at the Pecan Grove Picnic area in Zilker Park!
This little picnic spot is near some of the park's greatest hits:
- Lou Neff Circle + Rock Island where ACL Festival is hosted
- Barton Springs Pool (pay to swim)
- Barton Springs Free Area (see doggos swim)
- Paddleboard launch nearby + rentals available
Our picnic spot will serve as home base and you can paddleboard, swim, explore as you please!

If for some reason this isn't showing up on Google maps (it should), you can always put 'Barton Springs Pool' as the destination.
WHERE SHOULD I PARK?
Zilker park has paid and free parking options and I've marked options in the map below using the 🚗 emoji. If you don't mind parallel parking and doing a short walk, parking on the Lou Neff circle is a great option.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
I (Stephanie) will be providing the halo halo supplies, utensils, plates, bowls, napkins and basic necessities.
If you plan on coming to our gathering, please consider bringing something savory to share with the group + your own beverage of choice.
ARE THERE RESTROOMS NEARBY?
Yes, just past the Barton Springs Pool. See image below.
DO I NEED TO RSVP?
As a courtesy to the group so everyone can gauge how much to bring for the picnic, I ask that that if you plan to come to please RSVP by Friday, June 26th.
